Commercial Programme and Project Manager
Reporting to

Cross-functional project team members from the IT, Supply Chain, Retail, Marketing, Legal, Finance and Business Development functions in Canada and other regions

Role summary
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Development, the role holder will manage the development, delivery and implementation of cross-functional commercial programmes and projects related to our annual plan, primarily focused on the delivery of our Canadian store rollout plan. Working closely with key internal and external stakeholders in Canada and across our other regions, the programme and project manager will be required to track and develop the processes required to successfully open 200 stores with key stakeholders, ensuring stores open on time and are able to trade successfully from day one. Additionally, the role holder will be required to lead further cross functional projects related to delivering our annual plan.
The role
Principal accountabilities:
- Partnering and offering constructive challenge and support to project sponsors and stakeholders on projects key to delivering our annual plan
- Identifying and partnering with relevant stakeholders across the business to ensure successful delivery of their activities in relation to the store opening programme
- Developing and monitoring the critical path activities for the store rollout, identifying and resolving process improvement opportunities
- Leading cross-functional project and programme activities, the main focus of this role will be programme managing the stakeholders and processes required to deliver our store opening programme across Canada.
Principal responsibilities:
- Contributing to the team’s documents, reporting and storage
- Responsible for defining and managing project gates and sign off
- Responsible for producing and maintaining project documentation and reporting
- Compiling project plans to include stakeholder analysis, project schedule (with critical path and key milestones), defining resource requirements
- Project monitoring and communication, including the updating of project sponsors and Main Board members with key updates when required
- Advising and coaching other areas of the business on Project Management
- Chairing project meetings. Working with the Project sponsor to ensure that objectives and targets are clear and delivered in ordered to maintain momentum and progress
- Carrying out project reviews to evaluate the success of projects and the key business learnings
- Analysing and monitoring; actions, risks, dependencies, key decisions and costs. Facilitating the progress and resolution of these, removing barriers and escalating where appropriate

- Strong communicator with the ability to successfully influence at all levels of the organisation
- Formal project management training (PRINCE2 qualified or equivalent)
- Ability and willingness to contribute to and lead specific programme or project activities
- Ability to work at pace across a number of challenging different projects with competing demands
- An effective team player with the ability to foster strong relationships cross-functionally at all levels
- Proficient user of supporting tools – MS Office, planning and collaboration tools.
- Proven track record of delivering rollout programmes within an organisation and driving results
- An eye for detail whilst maintaining a view of the big picture, consider broader implications and think strategically
Desirable skills include:
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix structure and overcome cultural challenges in an international business
- Experience of working within both Waterfall and Agile and similar project delivery environments.
- Ability to simplify complex issues, get your head around it and bring a structured approach to planning
- Financially literate, with financial modelling capabilities
- Experience of working in a fast-moving customer focussed environment. Possibly Retail and/or Supply Chain. Possibly with experience in new product introduction or new market expansion.
- Experience of managing and leading geographically dispersed cross-functional project teams
- Experience working with Smartsheets
