Business Analyst, Portfolio Performance Solutions

We are looking for a Business Analyst, Portfolio Performance Solutions to join the BenchSci team. Reporting to the Director, Portfolio Performance, you will drive BenchSci's effort to assess enterprise-wide value creation at top global pharmaceutical companies through accelerating discovery and pre-clinical research. You will identify and analyze the avenues through which BenchSci's ASCEND platform is catalyzing research and unlocking new opportunities for our pharmaceutical partners.
You will bring in a deep analytics expertise as well as critical thinking to evaluate the impact of the platform on the R&D portfolio. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders and align them to your value assessment.
BenchSci is a remote first organization. At this moment, we are welcoming applicants from Canada for this position.
You Will:

• Develop a suite of R&D portfolio analytics that diagnose efficiency improvement opportunities
• Evaluate the opportunity size of new R&D targets through approaches such as eNPV and discounted cash flow modelling
• Become a knowledge expert on pharmaceutical R&D spending trends and support a multidisciplinary team with uncovered industry and customer insights
• Build analytical models to assess value creation through spend efficiencies, cost savings, R&D pipeline acceleration and portfolio optimization
• Work in an autonomous, deliverable-driven, and remote-first environment
• Work with our Science, Delivery, and Analytics teams to analyze internal customer data and define value stories
• Develop and continuously refine research spend related metrics, datasets, and dashboards to provide data-driven guidance for customer business reviews

You Have:

• Expert in MS Excel
• Knowledge of data and visualization tools (Tableau, Python, Heap, Looker)
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or equivalent relevant education
• Past experience with value modelling (NPV)
• 2+ years of experience in business/data analytics or relevant experience in pharmaceutical R&D
• Strong intrinsics on business and financial fundamentals
