Job Summary


Reporting to the Director, Business Solutions, this one-year contract position is responsible for a broad range of activities affecting all groups within the Investment Reporting, Data Governance & Valuations. This will require an understanding of HOOPP at a macro level as well as a detailed understanding of HOOPP’s Investment Products & Strategies and Business & IT Architecture. This role involves considerable interaction with various departments within HOOPP’s IT, Front, Middle, and Back Offices and will be focused on project delivery, cross-functional report building, systems configurations, and new features implementation.


What You Will Do


  • Manage the implementation of new, cross-functional checks across systems and reporting infrastructure maintained by the team
  • Contributing to the decisions related to HOOPP’s Data Architecture as it relates to Investment Reporting and Data Governance & Valuations
  • Involved in the configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of HOOPP’s P&L system – Ortec Pearl
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Portfolio and Deal Structures within HOOPP including all of the security types that make up those strategies
  • Coordinate with other teams the completion of various projects, capture and document requirements, communicate them effectively and precisely to implementation teams (IT, IDM), advise on preferred solutions, and ultimately validate and accept related deliverables. Communicate effectively and work closely with internal stakeholders to make sure the requirements are met, and delivered solutions are validated and accepted
  • Analyze and confirm the methodologies and the accuracy of the calculations impacting Front and Middle Office reports
  • Building cross-functional reports using a range of reporting tools and technologies like Qlikview/QlikSense, Python, Snowflake, Excel, Power Query, SAP Hana.
  • As a self-starter, continuously looking for outside-of-the-box process improvements and new, value-add initiatives for the Business Solutions Group


What You Bring


  • Professional designations – CFA, FRM, PRM would be an asset
  • Ability to think conceptually, and creatively, always looking for new ways of doing work
  • Experience in configuring production systems (P&L systems preferred)
  • A commitment to demonstrating HOOPP values
  • Experience using BI tools, spreadsheets, and database applications (SQL)
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Diligent with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Practical product knowledge, with a solid understanding of theoretical fundamentals, especially those related to derivative valuations and structures
  • 5+ Years of relevant Investment Operations experience, preferably with Pension Funds
  • Capable of working independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team
  • Works well under pressure handles concurrent tasks, and meets prescribed deadline
  • Strong data modelling, data processing and data analysis skills
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field (i.e. Finance, IT, Mathematics)
