Job Summary

The IT Investment Solutions Group at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) is looking for an experienced person to fill a permanent, full-time IT Sr. Business Analyst role in the Data Technology Solutions (DTS) team.

DTS enables the management and governance of investment related data assets to provide timely, accurate, complete, and accessible data. The team provides customers with automated solutions, master data management and data orchestration services to enable business users to make data selections and improve data quality.

What you will do:

• Actively participate and contribute to Agile/ Scrum practices such as daily standups, backlog refinement, planning and sprint retrospectives. 
• Work in a highly agile team, collaborate with developers and other business analysts, share information, and provide inputs to design and build solutions
• Manage client expectations by maintaining healthy open communications between business and technical stakeholders and keeping relevant parties informed of progress
• Respond to support requests by investigating issues, coordinating with IT and business stakeholders and working with developers and other IT staff to provide solutions
• Support the Product Owner in developing and realizing the Product vision (develop roadmaps, manage scope, minimal viable products, prioritize backlog, create stories to incorporate user and technical feedback etc.)
• Partner with our business and IT stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, create robust solutions, and perform testing

Who you are:

• Proven ability to support junior team members and coordinate with business users
• Understands the why (curious, asks probing questions, digs deep, open minded) 
• 5+ years Capital markets domain knowledge specifically related to
• Master security and other reference data
• Excellent facilitator and interviewer (able to pull out deeper business needs & usage patterns) 
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Data management and data governance
• Excellent understanding of IT concepts such as databases, functions, UI, business rules, software systems, and data governance
• Proficiency writing queries using SQL
• Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements
• Investment accounting (Book of Record)
• University degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management or equivalent
• Proven experience with data management, investment systems and business intelligence tools
• Trade and position data for multiple asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, Derivatives, FX, OTC products etc.)
• Possess a Quality Assurance mindset and capable of testing software to find issues and confirm functionality. 

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of SimCorp Dimensions (SCD), SAP HANA, Snowflake, Eagle Pace and/or Bloomberg
• Experiencing working in an Agile environment
