About The Opportunity


Position Summary:


Under the Senior Director of Academic Operations and Global Campus Programs in the College of Professional Studies (CPS), the Assistant Director for Faculty and Program Operations (Regional Campuses) provides innovative support to the college’s faculty in region, in collaboration with the Boston-based CPS academic team, regional campus leadership teams, and regional campus student facing staff. This position collaborates closely with the Toronto campus Associate Dean.


The primary focus of this position is to develop and implement robust strategies to ensure the growth and success of the CPS programs and students amongst Northeastern’s global campus network in Toronto, Seattle, Bay Area and Vancouver.


To ensure a top-tier learner experience, this position will manage all on-ground CPS program administrative activities at regional campuses, including program delivery support for CPS programs; serve as liaison between regional-based and Boston-based programs/operations; advise faculty on administrative and student-related matters and resources that support college’s regional campus experience for faculty affairs; and be the point of contact for pressing student and faculty matters that require immediate escalation, guidance or intervention from Boston based leadership.


Responsibilities


35% Faculty Affairs Operations


  • Work with regional and Boston-based operations teams to devise and propel region-specific faculty resources, employer relations, and industry engagement strategies.
  • Serve and support a region-specific list of faculty and class section teaching assignments each term, in partnership with faculty leadership and program managers.
  • Advise faculty on college academic operations matters, business processes, management of student issues, and best practices concerning student support.
  • Act as liaison between college administration and faculty in region
  • Act as the regional touch point for faculty teaching in academic programs present at regional campuses (As of 2022: Toronto, Seattle, Bay Area and Vancouver); work with the faculty leadership and staff to ensure best-in-class experience for faculty.


35% Academic Operations and Programming


  • Assist in the development and delivery of programs/services/workshops to meet short-term and long-term student needs (e.g., new faculty orientation, development, first quarter support, training around supporting ESL students and students with mental health concerns).
  • Follow regional-specific policies and procedures, collaborating with Boston-based and regional teams as needed, to including teaching assignments, hiring; course scheduling; classroom and resource scheduling.
  • Support the planning, execution, and maintenance of region-specific program operations.
  • Facilitate faculty development and engagement opportunities to cultivate a strong sense of faculty belonging and inclusion.
  • Liaise between CPS advising, regional campuses, CPS operations, marketing, and admissions teams; improve process efficiency and inter-organizational collaboration.


30% Program Liaison and Problem Resolution


  • Coordinate broader regional program initiatives with regional leadership, Boston-based program managers, and CPS advising/program leadership.
  • Serve as first point of contact and College of Professional Studies Toronto/Vancouver program representative for internal stakeholders such as Career and Academic Coaches, Learner Services, Admissions, Canvas Academic Technology Services, Registrar's office, NU Bookstore, and campus staff on the Toronto campus
  • Be the first point of contact and on ground support for student and faculty issues, working closely with Toronto and Boston teams to resolve.
  • Collaborate with, Toronto campus Associate Dean, program managers, lead program faculty and operations staff to share best practices, provide troubleshooting and support, and ensure class scheduling and staffing efficiency
