Responsibilities:
· Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service.
· Assist in managing the Engineering department and ensuring adherence to all standards.
· Fulfill the role of the hotel's designated chief engineer, overseeing adequate supervision and staffing of the building.
· Coordinate a preventive maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems, with a focus on improving efficiency, profitability, and service levels.
· Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding building codes, health, fire safety, and life safety programs.
· Possess a thorough understanding of and responsibility for all Heart of House systems, including electrical, power, internet, and technology.
· Monitor, update, and implement the fire safety plan, building evacuation plan, and disaster recovery plan.
· Promptly respond to maintenance requests from guests and colleagues.
· Oversee ongoing maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance for the hotel, aiming to improve efficiency, profitability, and service levels.
· Adhere to the annual maintenance budget.
· Assist in monitoring energy and water management programs.
· Recruit, schedule, conduct performance reviews, train, and develop engineering colleagues.
· Lead the Planet 21 Committee, hosting monthly meetings and sharing knowledge of the brand's sustainability policies and procedures (e.g., waste management, charitable initiatives).
· Balance operational, administrative, and colleague needs.
· Act as a role model for Accor values and the Heartist culture.
· Follow departmental policies and procedures.
· Adhere to all safety policies.
· Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Required: 4th Class Power Engineer certificate.
· Minimum 2-3 years of leadership experience in a similar role.
· Highly organized, results-oriented, and able to make decisions that empower employees to exceed guest expectations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications.
· Preferred: Engineering degree/diploma or related discipline.
· Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple complex projects with a focus on achieving results.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
· Highly responsible and reliable, with exceptional attention to detail.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
· Capable of maintaining a focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
· Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overnights, and holidays, as hours of work and days off will vary according to business needs.
