AECOM ’s Transportation business line is dedicated to excellence and integrated design solutions. We are actively seeking a talented Electrical Engineer/Technical Expert with Movable Bridge/Transportation/Infrastructure/Building expertise for immediate employment in our Kitchener office.

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Expected to perform routine electrical engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Work on projects that include different types of movable bridges (lift, swing and bascule).
• Makes decisions with senior guidance on technical problems and methods
• Uses creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented technical problems. Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates assignments
• The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually results from progressive experience
• Supports the electrical design team within the Transportation group
• Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs and applications
• Assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits with guidance from Senior team

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar Computer Aid Program, SKM or similar power analysis program and Microsoft Office Suite
• Perform other duties as needed and in line with the candidate’s experience level including and mentoring other engineers.
• Good communication skills at all levels, both in oral presentation and written reports.
• Ability to provide site inspections carrying testing equipment and tools.

• The selected candidate is expected to be able to travel to project sites and work in the field as needed. Approximately 25% of the time will be spent performing field work, which in some cases, will involve out of province, or country travel (typically USA).
