MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Security Engineer with low voltage distribution and/or P&C experience to work on a 1 year contract, with a high potential of renewal, for our client - one of BC's largest and most recognizable energy and utility companies.
The typical workfor this individual includes:
- Security design, including equipment type, layout, wiring and schematic
- Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) design
- Perform testing and commissioning at site
- Provide support on standard updates
This individual will join a team of 30-35 professionals that have projects for YEARS to come!
This is primarily a hybrid role based out of the Burnaby office; however the manager is open to someone working remotely so long as they are in the Metro Vancouver region and can come to the office at a short notice. As for travel, it is required in this role. Typically up to 3 days at site, butsite visits can span up to 1 week.
The main requirements are:
- 8+ years of engineering experience (they will consider someone with less experience who shows initiative, strong collaboration skills, and an agile/willing to step in and help mindset)
- Registered P.Eng. with EGBC and willing to obtain their Permit to Practice
- Valid Class 5 Drivers' License in good standing
- Electrical, P&C (or both) design experience (low voltage, distribution-type design work including needs assessment)
- Experience with the commissioning and issue for construction phases is an asset
