Department Summary


The CIC’s mission is to provide breakthrough research, education, and training that directly benefit Canada’s construction industry and lead to the sustainable and economic development of our built environment and a competitive advantage for the Canadian construction industry.


Position Summary


Reporting to the Director of the Construction Innovation Centre (CIC) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Administration Coordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day administration of the Centre. The Administration Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative activities and the provision of program support for both the Director and Associate Director. The Administration Coordinator will work independently and carry out their duties with minimal supervision.


Duties


  • Books classroom/meeting room space for information sessions, workshops and annual FORUM.
  • Coordinates, identifies and collects surplus lab and office equipment and ensures surplus equipment is correctly labelled and packaged, and that all necessary Surplus Asset Disposal forms are completed
  • Performs word processing and data entry for the area or program. Prepares and types letters, emails and other area/program-related correspondence.
  • Manages general/ central/ program email account, responding and redirecting inquiries as appropriate and timely.
  • Prepare packages and resources as requested for distribution to stakeholders and the public.
  • Updates and makes routine changes to web pages. Uploads new content as directed.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Demonstrated ability to apply and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines, FOIPP, records management protocols, and all relevant university policies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in use of database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • 2-3 years of progressively responsible operational support experience, preferably in a postsecondary setting.
  • Diploma (Preferably a diploma in business administration, accounting or human resources).
