Ce poste passionnant et diversifié soutient l’exécution des stratégies de recrutement du CSJ, ce qui comprend la représentation du CSJ dans les salons de l’enseignement postsecondaire, les présentations en classe, la planification d’événements pour les étudiants potentiels, les visites du campus, l’organisation et l'exécution de détails administratifs et la recherche des tendances de recrutement, au besoin, pour recruter des étudiants potentiels exceptionnels. Ce poste exige de nombreux déplacements à travers l’Alberta et le Canada, en ciblant des écoles secondaires, des collèges et des événements spéciaux pour recruter des étudiants potentiels par le biais de présentations et d’interactions individuelles. RESPONSABILITÉS


  • Fournir des sessions de conseil en personne et virtuellement ainsi que soutenir les visites et les événements du campus organisés pour les étudiants potentiels, les parents et les invités qui visitent le CSJ.
  • Travailler avec les candidats pour encourager l’acceptation des offres et le rendement, afin d’augmenter le nombre d’inscriptions au CSJ.
  • Voyager à travers l’Alberta et le Canada en ciblant des écoles secondaires, des institutions postsecondaires et des événements spéciaux pour recruter des étudiants potentiels par le biais de présentations, de foires de kiosques et de conseils individuels.
  • Diriger la collecte de pistes auprès des étudiants potentiels et suivre leur progression tout au long des démarches d’inscription. Saisir les données dans les systèmes universitaires afin de suivre les candidats potentiels.
  • Maintenir l’engagement des étudiants admis et communiquer continuellement la valeur de la fréquentation du CSJ à l’UofA; planifier et mettre en oeuvre des initiatives de rendement en conséquence.
  • Engager le public d’une manière appropriée à l’âge, à la culture et à l’inclusion.
  • Faire la promotion du CSJ et de l’Université de l’Alberta lors de divers événements de recrutement auprès des étudiants potentiels et de leurs parents, y compris en prenant la parole en public.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec tous les postes du Student Recruitment Centre of Expertise, ainsi qu’avec la direction et l’équipe de recrutement du CSJ afin de répondre aux besoins stratégiques de la faculté et de l’université, notamment en offrant un soutien à la planification d’événements, un soutien aux initiatives virtuelles, aux admissions et à l’inscription de nouveaux étudiants.
  • Aider les nouveaux étudiants du CSJ à s’inscrire aux cours, y compris les ateliers Inscriptions 101.
  • Réfléchir et proposer des idées nouvelles et innovantes pour améliorer l’engagement des futurs étudiants dans le but de les recruter.
  • Développer, accroître et maintenir de solides relations avec les principaux intervenants, tels que les conseillers des écoles secondaires.
  • Assister les étudiants potentiels dans le processus de demande d’admission. Aider à résoudre les problèmes d’admission afin de garantir l’admissibilité du groupe de candidats.
  • Emballer et expédier le matériel de recrutement aux clients appropriés, ainsi qu’aux destinations de voyage.
  • Aider au développement, à la participation et à la mise en oeuvre de la logistique des événements de recrutement, tels que la journée portes ouvertes de la UofA. Aider à l’organisation d’autres événements clés liés à la promotion et à la visibilité du CSJ, tels que, mais sans s’y limiter, la Coupe du Chancelier, les événements de Canadian Parents for French, l’Olympiade des sciences, etc.
  • Participer à des projets de recherche, compiler des données et créer des évaluations sur l’efficacité des événements.
  • Évaluer les initiatives de recrutement auxquelles le CSJ aura participé en établissant des rapports sur l’engagement des étudiants potentiels, la génération de pistes, le nombre de publications fournies, la participation à l’événement et d’autres notes significatives décrivant l’objecctif et l’utilité de l’événement aux fins d’évaluation et de planification future
  • Effectuer d’autres tâches selon les besoins
  • Assurer la liaison avec le personnel qui soutient la gestion des inscriptions et les objectifs des services aux étudiants au sein du Bureau du registraire du Campus Saint-Jean, ainsi qu’avec les équipes de recrutement autochtone et international.
  • Répondre aux demandes de renseignements courantes et non courantes concernant le CSJ et l’université, les possibilités d’apprentissage intégré au travail, les services aux étudiants, les exigences d’admission et le statut d’admission. Répondre à un éventail de questions sur une variété de sujets (tels que la conversion des programmes d’études nationaux, la conversion IB/AP, les liens aux parcours de carrière, les bourses d’études, etc).

Position Summary


The Student Recruiter, Campus Saint-Jean role is primarily located on Campus Saint-Jean in Edmonton, AB. The position will also occasionally be located on North Campus in Edmonton, AB. The hours of work for this position will be varied, including a requirement to work evenings and weekends. This position requires overtime, extensive travel within Canada, and time away from home that may average more than five days per trip (primarily September through December).


The Student Recruitment Centre of Expertise supports the recruitment of prospective undergraduate students to the University of Alberta. This unique position will report directly to the Student Recruitment Service Partner within the Student Recruitment Centre of Expertise in the Office of the Registrar, but will work closely on a daily basis with the Senior Student Recruiter at Campus Saint-Jean, and the rest of the Campus Saint-Jean recruitment team located at, and reporting directly to, Campus Saint-Jean.


The Student Recruiter, Campus Saint-Jean is responsible for the dissemination of information and effective promotion of the University of Alberta, and specifically specializes in knowledge about Campus Saint-Jean (CSJ), to prospective students across Canada. This exciting and diverse position supports the execution of CSJ recruitment strategies, which includes representing CSJ at post-secondary fairs, classroom presentations, planning prospective student events, providing campus tours, organizing and executing administrative details, and researching recruitment trends as required to recruit exceptional prospective students. This position requires extensive travel across Alberta and Canada, targeting select high schools, colleges, and special events to recruit prospective students via presentations and one on one interactions, including driving a UofA fleet vehicle to local and rural Alberta recruitment events. In addition, this position will participate in recruiting and connecting with prospective students using virtual platforms.


Duties


  • Liaises with staff who support enrolment management and student services objectives within the Office of the Registrar, Campus Saint-Jean, as well as the Indigenous and International Recruitment teams.
  • Assists with research projects, compiles data, and creates evaluations around event effectiveness
  • Keeps admitted students engaged and continually conveys the value of attending Campus Saint-Jean at the UofA; plans and implements yield initiatives accordingly
  • Assists prospective students in the application for admission process. Helps to troubleshoot admission challenges to ensure admissibility of the applicant pool. Works with applicants to encourage offer acceptance and yield, ultimately increasing enrolment at Campus Saint-Jean
  • Assist with the development, participation, and implementation of recruiting events logistics, such as the UofA Open House. Assist with other key events related to promotion and visibility of Campus Saint-Jean such as, but not limited to, the Chancellor's Cup, Canadian Parents for French events, Olympiade des sciences, etc.
  • Travels across Alberta and Canada targeting select high schools, postsecondary institutions, and special events to recruit prospective students via presentations, booth fairs and one-on-one advising
  • Assists incoming students to CSJ with course registration, including Registration 101 workshops
  • Engages audiences in an age appropriate, culturally aware, and inclusive manner.
  • Responds to both routine and non-standard inquiries about Campus Saint-Jean and the university, work integrated learning opportunities, student services, admission requirements, and admission status. Answers a range of questions on a variety of subject areas (such as the conversion of domestic curricula, IB/AP conversion, connections to career pathways and scholarships, etc.) Escalates inquiries when required.
  • Provides on-campus and virtual advising, as well as supporting on-campus tours and events for prospective students, parents, and guests touring and visiting Campus Saint-Jean
  • Drives the collection of leads from potential students and monitors their progression throughout the enrolment funnel. Enters data into university systems in order to track potential applicants.
  • Packages and ships recruitment materials to appropriate clients, as well as to travel destinations
  • Promotes Campus Saint-Jean and the University of Alberta at various recruitment events to prospective students and their parents, including extensive public speaking
  • Works closely with all positions within the Student Recruitment Centre of Expertise, as well as CSJ leadership and CSJ recruitment team, to address the strategic needs of the faculty and university, including offering event-planning support, virtual initiatives support, admissions, and registration of new students.
  • Brainstorms and proposes new and innovative ideas to improve prospective student engagement for the purpose of recruitment
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Evaluates attended recruitment initiatives by reporting prospective engagement, lead generation, number of publications provided, event attendance, and other meaningful notes describing the purpose and utility of the event for evaluation and future planning purposes.
  • Develops, grows and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as high school counsellors


Qualifications


  • Able to engage with different audiences at an age-appropriate level, culturally aware and inclusive manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication in both French and English and interpersonal skills
  • The ideal candidate will have an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Alberta, preference or asset for a Campus Saint-Jean graduate; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to balance priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills, highly motivated, and organized
  • Good knowledge of the UofA and the CSJ, and post-secondary institutions
  • Able to travel extensively
