Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working in the Edmontonoffice with a mixture of on and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement is subject to change, based on operational needs.

About the role:
We are hiring two Summer Student Recruiters to join our Edmonton Centre. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the efforts of diverse donor recruitment at community events. You will attend local events to raise awareness regarding the importance of donating blood and blood products and encourage people to donate blood. You will also work with staff to identifying possible virtual events, activity targets and best practices for event execution. Awareness and promotion of stem cell on-line registration with appropriate target market will also be a requirement of the role.
Key responsibilities include:

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Experience with sales, promotions and/or marketing and dealing with the general public
• Strong personal initiative and a passion for the cause
• Ability to initiate conversation and speak comfortably regarding opportunities to get involved at Canadian Blood Services
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks while being flexible

Education, Training and Experience:

• Some post-secondary education, plus related experience or equivalent combination
• Experience with use of devices such as tablets and laptops
• Preference will be given to those with an interest in Sales, Marketing or Public Outreach
• Required: valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
• Fluency in English
• Experience with use of social media
