Student Advisor Jobs

The Alberta Educational Centre is currently seeking a Student Advisor who will provide assistance to students in their day-to-day academic and personal lives, offering guidance and support as needed.

Advisor Responsibilities:

• Facilitate referrals of students to community agencies or other professionals, as necessary

• Coordinate work placements and programs aimed at developing workplace skills

• Maintain availability during office hours and scheduled appointments to meet with students

• Offer guidance to students in aligning their program progress with their career and educational objectives

• Provide up-to-date and relevant academic information to students

• Refer students requiring assistance with academic or personal challenges to appropriate resources

• Engage in discussions with teachers or other professionals to address various issues and concerns

• Conduct orientation sessions and tutorials for students and faculty on available services and programs

• Advise students on diverse strategies to successfully complete their studies

• Organize and oversee student events to foster a sense of community within the program

• Manage attendance records and create schedules as needed

• Assist students with timetable creation, school adjustment, attendance issues, and study skills
