Starbucks Lead (Part Time)

Role Summary
The Starbucks Lead will assist theStarbucks leadership team in executing store operations during scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities

• Assist with new Colleague training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Lead shift briefings and delegate tasks
• Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve partner performance
• Handle payment transactions in an efficient manner
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
• Other duties as assigned
• Communicate information to Starbucks leadership so that the team can respond as necessary
• Organize opening and closing duties as assigned
• Ensure that Starbucks merchandising and signing standards are followed
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
• Responsible on a scheduled basis for the opening and closing of the store and all related tasks
• Ensure that any complaints are resolved in a positive manner keeping guests happy and ensure recurring business
• Execute store operations during scheduled shifts
• Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team
• Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
• Greet guests as they arrive at the Starbucks outlet and inquire into their orders

Requirements

• Food Handlers Certification
• Must be computer literate. Preferred candidate will have previous experience with point of sale software, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Diploma or degree in tourism or hospitality, or working towards considered an asset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Cash handing experience required, including the use of point of sales systems
• Previous experience in a retail or coffee shop environment
• Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
• Previous leadership experience an asset
