Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate routine duties such as inventories, supplies, financial records, holds, exhibits, and room bookings.
- Support identified partners in use of makerspace.
- Deliver Makerspace training for branch/department library staff.
- Provide advanced technology support to customers in library makerspaces.
- Participate on system-wide task teams and/or special projects or events.
- Facilitate transfer of shared makerspace materials to branches.
- Prepare payroll, attendance and financial records.
- Participate in supervision, training and/or evaluation
- Provide basic reference and reader's advisory at Makerspace service points, triages complex requests to branch/department information staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for fostering a positive and respectful workplace.
- In the absence of more senior staff, is responsible for the Central Library Makerspace and/or library location.
- Assists in development of Makerspace processes and procedures, maintains and updates procedures.
- Contribute to reports and statistics.
- Responsible for the health, safety and security of staff and customers in accordance with occupational health and safety legislation and library policies.
- Coordinate, plan and conduct Makerspace training, class visits, tours and outreach.
- Provides cash handling (including collecting fees, refunds, opening and closing procedures in regards to cash/float counting).
- Responsible for first level repair support for Makerspace equipment.
- Provides training to public in the use of makerspace equipment and technology.

Skills And Qualifications
- Hours of work for full-time staff to include two evenings per week and alternate Saturdays.
- Effective interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public.
- Degree or diploma in education, arts, science, library techniques, technology or related field with experience in the provision of training or customer service in the use of technology and digital creation tools.
- Ability to work at any Makerspace location in Mississauga.
- Professional knowledge in the use of makerspace tools, equipment and software.
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of technology training.
- Some lifting is involved.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Ability to lead others,
- SUNDAY WORK MAY BE REQUIRED.
- Effective written and oral skills in English are essential.
- Demonstrated experience with Mac and PC technology support.
