About the role:
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated senior analyst to join our finance team. In this position, you will play a key role in commercial analysis relating to margins and contracts, and in financial of working capital, price hedging and financing. You will also be involved in the planning and budgeting process, working closely with the commercial and operations departments.
In this role, you will be part of the Regional FP&A Finance team for Glencore's Copper Division for North America and the Philippines, reporting to the FP&A Manager - Revenues, Working Capital and Commercial. The position may require occasional travel to our business units and offices in Canada and the USA.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the financial process of budgeting and assessing the value of our industrial assets for the North American copper group.
- Be involved in any other financial analysis required by the organization.
- Responsible for maintaining the financial revenue structure in SAP and other related systems.
- Carry out financial analyses of the impact on results of metal price movements and hedging strategies.
- Carry out financial analysis relating to cash flow, working capital management and impact on financing costs.
- Execute financial planning and budgeting model for revenues.
- Responsible for establishing current, historical and budgeted gross and net margins according to the different product groups fed into our plants and the different suppliers of each product.
- Use SAP, HFM and PowerBI software tools to improve financial analysis processes and reporting.
- Support the regional team of FP&A analysts in the analysis of capital investments and operational improvements for all aspects related to product margins and revenues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including operational teams, commercial teams, corporate finance and other functional areas.
- Responsible for producing monthly financial analysis of inventories and explaining variances versus budget targets.
- Review and analyze metal contracts and their impact on industrial asset financial results and operating margins.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA) is an asset.
• 5 years experience in financial analysis, planning and reporting, preferably in the mining or manufacturing sector.
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and performance measurement techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide relevant information.
• Ability to synthesize financial results and translate them in a simple and concise way for management reviews.
• Value teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant financial software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong attention to detail.
• Have the willingness and curiosity to dive into operational processes and question pre-established data and parameters.
Language: Bilingual French and English
