Sports Operations Coordinator

From our original roots, LUG is a competitive and fun sports league with multiple divisions representing 50+ college cities and over 10,000 players across North America. With our strong community, and focus on both on and off the field of play, LUG is a social sports community that brings together students, young adults, and athletes for a shared sport experience.

We are currently looking for a Sports Operations Coordinator to help support our efforts to provide the first class experience that our members expect whether they’re playing in a hockey league in London, Ontario, a softball league in Ann Arbor, Michigan or any of our other sports (volleyball, eSports, flag football and more). This individual will work closely with our head office team, facilities partners and campus staff to help ensure smooth and consistent league operations.

General responsibilities include:

• Manage on time payments for all Game Operations related staff with proper reporting and validation of all data.
• Oversee league statistics and scoring tracking to ensure all games are accurately and consistently posted to the website immediately following games.
• Order equipment, support shipping of materials and supplies across the leagues.
• Work closely with facility partners to secure and negotiate contracts for games, tournaments, and leagues.
• Supporting other initiatives that pop up in our fast moving, entrepreneurial business such as photoshoots, product and campaign launches, and more.
• Build processes and procedures to help simplify operations and the back end experience to deliver a consistent player experience.
• Build schedules that create the best playing environment for players and teams by optimizing the schedule, creating consistency in scheduling and balancing skill levels.
• Create and update league schedules for all leagues to ensure all games are schedule, accurate, uploaded, and tracked online.
• Support contracts and maintain good relationships with key partners.

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• College Certificate or University Degree in business or a related field
• 1+ years’ experience in an operations role, preferably in sports, entertainment, or hospitality services

Skill Requirements

• Extremely well organized and detail oriented
• Proficient at using Microsoft Suite, Google for Business
• Strong attention to detail
• Additional tools knowledge include: Calendly, Canva, MailChimp, Slack

• We’re a remote-first team and output is more important than face time, so where you choose to work is up to you — as long as you have internet access, you can work from wherever helps to make you successful, and your family happy.
• LUG offers unlimited vacation and monthly athletic fee stipend
• League games typically take place on evenings and weekends. This is not your standard 9-5. Working day requirements may shift based on leagues running and the season.
