Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position based in the TORONTO office:
- Manage a book mid-sized to large Public Sector accounts with varying risk management needs.
- A contributing member of a highly professional and experienced National team.
- This role consists of contributing to revenue retention and revenue growth by assisting in the implementation of insurance solutions that meet clients’ needs.
- “Delivering the Firm” by aligning client strategies and needs to the company’s capabilities and resources. The candidate will be responsible for proactively and comprehensively responding to client needs and supporting opportunity development initiatives from both an internal and an external perspective.

- Develop the service plan for clients and monitor progress ensuring timeframes are effectively planned and high-quality products or solutions successfully delivered.
- Responsible for maintaining and preserving relationships and ensuring overall service needs are met, addressing escalated issues and miscellaneous concerns to remain in positive standing and preserve credibility.
- Offer technical advice and make informed recommendations leveraging product expertise, a comprehensive review of account needs and risks and colleagues with various appropriate specialties.
- Work to ensure conditions, coverage and pricing are advantageous for clients.
- Develop, grow, and maintain the relationship between the organization and clients, with a focus on retention and on growth
- Maintain strong relationships with senior level professional counterparts in client organizations.
- Attend and participate frequently in industry events and conferences to build up a strong professional network, maintain proximity to the relevant market and represent the Company as a thought leader.
- Direct and implement the service for managed accounts and growth areas leveraging an in-depth understanding of client needs and expectations, market needs and trends and internal product and service offerings.
- Uphold business and compliance standards when representing the firm.
- Provide a high level of customer service to mid-to-large Public Sector clients.
- Keep current on account issues, industry and market trends and develop strategy for accounts, industries or specialties to ensure appropriate solutions are delivered.
- Ability to support and mentor junior staff.
- 10 + years experience in the Insurance Industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with, and managing, mid to large sized accounts.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Service expertise, sales capabilities, with a focus on client retention and converting clients.
- Strong organizational skills in prioritizing work and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Holds RIBO License; or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Possess a solid understanding of basic property/casualty insurance principals and risk management concepts.
- Great team spirit
- Ability to present, and advise on, complex risk issues at the Executive level
- Strong customer service skills
- An in-depth knowledge of changing market conditions to contribute to the firm’s body of knowledge within the Public Sector industry
- Proficiency using email, spreadsheets, wording processing and presentation software
- CIP or other designations
- Public Entity experience – Non-profits, post-secondary, municipal and healthcare
