The Role

The Senior Planner will play a vital role in our architecture and planning firm, contributing to the development and implementation of comprehensive planning strategies and initiatives. As a key member of our team, the Senior Planner will collaborate closely with architects, urban designers, and other professionals to ensure that projects align with local regulations, community needs, and sustainable practices.

General Responsibilities Will Include

• Stay informed about emerging trends, policies, and regulations in the field of planning and incorporate them into project strategies.
• Mentor and support junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Prepare and review land-use plans, development proposals, and feasibility studies, ensuring compliance with local regulations, codes, and policies.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on urban design principles, land-use planning, and sustainable development practices.
• Lead the planning and zoning aspects of projects, including conducting research, data analysis, and site assessments to inform design decisions.
• Conduct community engagement activities, such as public meetings and workshops, to gather input, address concerns, and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and government agencies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for projects.

Must Haves

• Minimum 6 years experience in Urban planning in Canada.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in urban planning, land-use planning, or related roles, with a focus on architecture and design projects.
• Strong knowledge of local zoning regulations, planning processes, and relevant legislation.
