Senior Buyer Jobs

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven team player to join our Finance team in Toronto as a SENIOR BUYER.

In this role, YOU will be responsible for

1. Tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the company.
2. Processing all purchasing requests, ensuring delivery of goods & services in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Strategic forecasting, contract negotiation, ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the operational activities of the company and adequate stock levels for production requirements.
4. Establishing and maintaining vendor partner relationships.
5. Liaising with customers and vendors to resolve issues.
6. Proactively researching and sourcing companies and products, and negotiating national contracts based on the needs of the company in order to reduce costs of materials and services for new and repetitive contracts.
7. Developing and implementing policies and procedures for purchasing practices across Canada.
8. Providing purchasing expertise in long range strategic planning of new products and special projects.

YOU possess

• Proficient with MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Sound knowledge of procurement procedures, internal controls, applicable laws with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build healthy working relationships.
• Energetic, self-motivated and results-focused.
• Comprehensive experience drafting vendor agreements including the ability to strategically assess and mitigate risk with vendors and suppliers through well-structured agreements.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Proven team player who is resourceful, nimble and flexible.
• Effective prioritization, multi-tasking, attention to details, organizational and time management skills.
• Post secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, with Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) / Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or in progress is a preference.
• Exceptional forecasting ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
• Effective listening skills and the ability to interpret customer requirements.
• Proven negotiation and mathematical skills with a focus on effective cost management.
