This position is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, services and equipment at the lowest possible cost to meet required delivery dates and keep our material at a competitive level. It also has to be consistent with accepted standards of quality and service in accordance with Corporate Procurement Policies and Procedures.

Position Purpose

Key Results Areas

Ensures to purchase as per requisition requirements at the lowest price possible in order to achieve total cost reduction goals.
TYPICAL TASKS
- Supports implementation and management of Inventory Control programs for critical materials.
- Reviews procurement requisitions, analyzes specifications, prepares prospective bidder’s lists and obtains proposals on commodities assigned.
- Represents Procurement on special teams and committees involving Procurement and related matters.
- Creates and processes all their purchase orders in the system.
- Prepares detailed request for quotation plans and conduct effective cost negotiation and reduction program.
- Achieves cost reduction goals.
- Provides needed and expected answers to engineering, sales and marketing, manufacturing regarding availability and cost of required and inquired materials.
- Signs orders in accordance with Local delegation of authority.
- Utilizes price and cost analysis techniques to assure that the corporation is receiving the best value for its procurement dollar in conformity with the budget.
- Supports Supplier Management activity as outlined by Howmet Procurement Policy and Instructions manual.
- Interfaces with internal and external customers to ensure quality, price and delivery of products.
- Perform ASAT: Stars Compliance update and ASAT testing.
- Purchases as per requisition requirements within standards established.
