Retail Buyer - Sportswear

Alliance Employment Group is seeking a Retail Buyer for our client in North York. The ideal candidate is someone with experience in retail (bonus if in sportswear) who has done product buying and replenishment or strategic sourcing. Our client is looking for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of all buying, selling, and inventory activities
• Managing the purchasing and logistics of the products.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production personnel to develop cost-effective purchasing strategies
• Research and evaluate new products and services
• Monitoring inventory and liaising with suppliers and distributors.
• Managing the purchasing and logistics of the products.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure optimal product selection and cost savings
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management
• Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best quality and price of the products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (Lightning) preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of purchasing with finance experience preferred; or equivalent combination of experience within an organization that has a strong purchasing function
• Knowledge in SAP is a bonus
