ABOUT THE ROLE


Rennaï is seeking a motivated and passionate Associate Buyer to join our team. As an Associate Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Vice President of Merchandising, and the buying team, to curate and manage our assortment of luxury beauty and self-care products. You will also work directly will brand partners to ensure curated retail spaces and experiences. Your keen sense of market trends, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills will contribute to the success of our retail operations and the satisfaction of our discerning customers.


Your specific duties and responsibilities will include:


  • Assist in the assortment planning process by selecting products that align with the company's luxury positioning, target audience, and sales goals.
  • Act as a trusted support to the Vice-President of Merchandising in terms of communications, planning and processes within the department, cross-functionally and externally with brand/ vendor partners.
  • Collaborate with Buyers and cross-functional teams to develop and execute the buying strategy for luxury beauty and self-care products. You will ensure alignment with brand objectives and customer preferences in terms of retail space, and visual merchandising (gondolas, pods, fixtures).
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into category performance, trends, and future opportunities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the planning team to ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing excess or shortage situations.
  • Participate in the creation of marketing and promotional campaigns to drive sales and enhance the brand's image.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer demands, and competitive landscape within the luxury beauty industry.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, attending trade shows, seminars, and networking events to maintain a deep understanding of the luxury beauty market.
  • Ensure the creation of visually appealing displays and product presentations that highlight the luxury and exclusivity of our beauty offerings.
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships, negotiations, and partnerships to secure favorable terms, pricing, and exclusives.
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and other relevant metrics to make informed decisions about product performance and make recommendations for assortment adjustments.

EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES


  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a willingness to embrace change and challenges.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to make informed decisions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in retail buying, preferably within the luxury beauty or fashion sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related fields is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for and strong knowledge of: beauty products, trends, self-care and brands.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software for data analysis and presentation.
  • Creativity and an eye for design, understanding how visual presentation impacts customer experience.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders.

MILESTONES


90-day


  • Work directly with the Vice-President of Merchandising to support brand negotiations, planograms, assortment planning.
  • Support internal teams as required for brand information support.
  • Support Marketing team to gather any assets or brand information as needed.
  • Assist in helping to build out merchandising processes (e.g. PIM, Order writing, PO processing, etc.).
  • Research key trends and categories to support buying team.


180-day

  • Continue to support Vice-President of Merchandising with LOD’s (Brand fixture fit outs)/ helping to bridge communication between vendor and internal design team.
  • Assist the Merchandising team with gathering data from vendors in relation to PDP’s, digital assets and any other functions as required to meet critical milestones for back end set up.
  • Assist Vice-President with Inventory Planning with vendor partners for store opening orders.
