Job Description

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong appetite for new technology, emerging platforms and everything in between. An insatiable curiosity combined with the ability to translate intelligence and ideas is essential. This candidate will be responsible for advising as well as formulating media strategies rooted in an “audience first” approach. Designing the best mix of media channels to deliver effective advertising to the right target audience at the right time. From start to finish - planning, negotiating, buying, optimizing, and evaluating - this position owns the media strategy and execution for our clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Present media recommendations to stakeholders of all levels with associated rationale, costs, and deadlines
  • Work within budgets and monitor ongoing budgets to maximize exposure
  • Initiate and particulate in brainstorming sessions with internal stakeholders
  • Research, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations using traditional and non-traditional media
  • Collaborate with advertising team, digital team, and other stakeholders to understand market strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal clients
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of campaigns, providing both pre-, mid- and post-campaign reporting as needed
  • Maintain awareness of industry developments and media trends
  • Identify target audiences and understand their behaviour, habits, and how they consume media
  • Rigorous vendor assessment and negotiation to obtain best advertising rates


Qualifications:

  • Experience in 360 planning being able to plan across both traditional and digital channels integrating the two where possible
  • Experience planning across traditional and digital channels including Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, Google (DV360 an asset)
  • You are a team player but you also have the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge about the Canadian media landscape, media usage trends, and available advertising vehicles and formats
  • Experience working with digital marketing platforms such as Google AdWords, Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager an asset
  • Proven negotiation skills and can build excellent rapport with reps
  • You are analytical, organized, detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Minimum of 2-3 years planning and buying experience
