Job Description

Our Buyers ensure optimum quality, pricing and delivery of components for production. They are responsible for the development and maintenance of a specific group of commodities and vendors and arecontinuously focused on reducing the total cost of the finished products. The Buyers utilize thorough analyses combined with experience, judgment and skilled negotiation to accomplish departmental goals and to meet performance targets set by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate & make decisions with Engineering , Quality or Production team for deviations, specs changes, plating, raw materials etc.
  • Monitoring of commodity prices in the market and negotiate price increase/decrease whenever required
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Communicate with vendors ( ~100 vendors)
  • Monitor the change in material cost (BOM value) and present to management on monthly basis
  • Ordering and following-up of parts for production
  • Manage assigned commodity.
  • Study of drawings, selection of suppliers, sending RFQ/RFP, calling quotes/proposals and analyzing them.
  • Participation in suppliers’ evaluation
  • Business cases and business award preparation within the defined commodity
  • To identify area of cost reduction and takes initiatives for product cost optimization

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes), any ERP systems
  • Experience in Electrical and Electronics commodity is a great asset
  • Experience working with a large number of SKUs
  • Post-secondary education in supply chain preferred
  • Technical background: ability to read drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Experience in RFx and analyzing offers from the vendor
  • Well-organized and task oriented
  • Ability to make a quick decisions and to multi-task multiple jobs
  • Minimum of 2 years of sourcing/purchasing experience
  • Ability to prioritize things in a fast changing environment
