Responsible for the placement and management of Purchase Orders (via MRP or manual Purchase Requisitions) to satisfy business requirements

Facilitate shortage and backorder management by providing timely and effective communication to internal stakeholders

Manage Strategic Procurement activities for new project quoting and implementation: Cost optimization, supplier integration and material readiness

Manage the ordering of materials, supplies and services from suppliers to promote accountability and ensure operational standards are met and exceeded

• Plan, review and manage current and future MRP requirements based on production needs.

Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships ensuring good communication at all times

MUST have 5-10 years on the job experience in a purchasing role

MUST have proven previous purchasing experience in the manufacturing/production industry

Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

Bonus if experienced on ERP Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Software

8+ years of experience in procurement/supply chain management or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Proactively manage planning parameters for purchased items to achieve effective and efficient execution of routine orders

Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (eg. Lean, Six Sigma)

Position Title:Category Manager - Buyer

Working knowledge of category sourcing procedures and applicable laws, standards, and procedures of assigned categories are required.

Knowledge of inventory management techniques and industry best practices, ability to apply to the business

Perform Min/Max reviews as part of opportunity management process

Degree or diploma in business, with a focus on supply chain & operations, procurement, or materials management

Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts

Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers

3-5 years of direct work experience in a buyer/senior buyer position

A minimum of five years of experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.

Experience developing and applying a project material procurement plan.

Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office software.

Ability to effectively manage large data files derived from ERP systems.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Post-Secondary diploma/degree in a related field such as Office Administration, Accounting, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience

Experience in the Supply Chain Management field with a good understanding of contract structures, terms, and conditions.

Lead market and economic analysis to propose strategic sourcing opportunities and Supply Management optimization.

Completion or enrolment in the Supply Chain Management Professional designation.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive purchasing experience.

Experience in maintenance and capital project support, including scoping, bidding, negotiating, and contract administration.

Experience in retail sales, marketing, or category management of cosmetic or beauty industry is an asset.

Assist Category Manager in building planogram; list and de-list skus, charge vendors markdown fees and coordinate funds to Finance.

Manage merchandising direction through Advertising department and provide support for sample collection/ other activities associated with the Flyer/Seasonal processes.

Support Category Manager in planning weekly promotions.

Initiate and/or manage revenue and expense activities between Retail Banners, McKesson and vendors.

Strong business analytical/ data skills with experience with ERP process

Knowledge of leading & emerging CPG brands in the oversea Asian-Pacific market

Strong written & verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)

Technical knowledge of product categories, specification, pricing, regulations and import restrictions

Strong negotiation skills with sound business judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills with financial acumen
