Overview of the Role


This position will ensure availability of finished goods, packaging, ingredients and materials into plants/Regional Distribution Centers to satisfy finished goods requirements out of our Brandon and Saskatoon facilities. Working within the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) group, the position is accountable to procure from suppliers in order to accommodate production requirements of finished goods. Position will involve managing inventory remotely and therefore must have demonstrated understanding of procurement and supply chain principles. A highly interactive role in the organization, requiring effective facilitation of inter-department, analysis and problem solving within the Saputo supply chain.


How you will make contributions that matter:


  • Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards
  • Timely communication and escalation of supply issues
  • Coordinate ordering and stock levels of intermediate goods during product introductions/de-listing to minimize shortages/disposals
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ensure the Distribution Centers have the right products, in the right quantity, at the right time
  • Responsible for the effective administration of all purchase orders and invoices
  • Monitor the inventories of finished goods, ingredients, packaging and materials, and continuously replenish them to optimal levels
  • Continuously analyze and implement improvement in local supply chain to reduce cost, improve service
  • Work with other regional Procurement Coordinators to fair share and balance inventories as needed
  • Work with National transport group to assist coordination of interbranch movement of packaging / materials / ingredients as required
  • Maintain and manage the relationships with National purchasing group, SCO group, plants and external suppliers


You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:


  • Proven team player, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in current position
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Purchasing designation or relevant experience
  • SAP experience would be an asset
  • Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • University degree in Supply Chain or a related field a benefit
  • Demonstrate track record of effective problem solving and decision making
  • Excellent computer skills necessary
