Purpose


Leads and contributes to the overall success of Global Brand & Customer Insights employee voice research activities across the Scotiabank Group of Companies on Canadian and international mandates. The Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic needs and delivery of employee engagement initiatives. This role ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Accountabilities


  • Participates and represents Voice of Employee in strategic business plan development and on-going business meetings / decisions with key business line leaders and stakeholders. Identifies the right strategy and solutions to meet business objectives, provide strategic direction for the business.
  • Support the content creation and effective delivery of employee voice programs including, Town Halls, Coffee Chats, professional development speaker series etc. leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Single point of contact in service of implementing core employee voice programs and initiatives
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment. Uses a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
  • Proactively utilize a wide range of HR data to identify themes/trends and recommend effective strategies to meet the business needs.
  • Provides strategic insights and solutions to leaders on Talent (Employee) priorities and needs.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Support for the Employee Engagement Program
  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates and models the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Ensures effective alignment of goals, key deliverables and supports the program management of large employee engagement and voice projects
  • Champions a high-performance environment and demonstrates a commitment to Scotiabank’s values: accountability, passion, integrity, and respect. Delivers results in accordance with Scotiabank behavioural competencies. Creates an inclusive team culture and an environment where team members hear, share, and appreciate diverse perspectives.
  • Facilitates Talent (Employee) regulatory compliance needs (e.g. reporting) with HR Services.

Experience


Education / Experience / Other Information


  • Strong ability to effectively perform in a complex, high change environment while being a positive steward for HRMRE.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding to allow appropriate partnership with client groups.
  • Excellent project management skills to oversee execution of complex communications strategies.
  • Superior organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict management, negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Suite, and Qualtrics and SPSS desirable.
  • Strong strategic capabilities to assess issues and their potential impact on the Bank's image and reputation.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant HR experience in employee engagement.
  • Results-oriented and able to effectively execute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong cross-cultural and cross-divisional team relationships.
  • Fluency in Spanish highly desirable.


Education


  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
  • CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation, or in progress is an asset.


Working Conditions


  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
