- Participates and represents Voice of Employee in strategic business plan development and on-going business meetings / decisions with key business line leaders and stakeholders. Identifies the right strategy and solutions to meet business objectives, provide strategic direction for the business.
- Support the content creation and effective delivery of employee voice programs including, Town Halls, Coffee Chats, professional development speaker series etc. leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Single point of contact in service of implementing core employee voice programs and initiatives
- Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment. Uses a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
- Proactively utilize a wide range of HR data to identify themes/trends and recommend effective strategies to meet the business needs.
- Provides strategic insights and solutions to leaders on Talent (Employee) priorities and needs.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Support for the Employee Engagement Program
- Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates and models the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
- Ensures effective alignment of goals, key deliverables and supports the program management of large employee engagement and voice projects
- Champions a high-performance environment and demonstrates a commitment to Scotiabank’s values: accountability, passion, integrity, and respect. Delivers results in accordance with Scotiabank behavioural competencies. Creates an inclusive team culture and an environment where team members hear, share, and appreciate diverse perspectives.
- Facilitates Talent (Employee) regulatory compliance needs (e.g. reporting) with HR Services.
- Manages/supports multiple projects concurrently.
- Design and execute projects within budget.
- Population may include multi-lingual employees in diverse, specialized roles
- Proactively contributes to a positive team environment across both their direct team and the broader team(s).
- May have up to 5 direct reports
- Proactively offers to help teammates & leader - makes others better.
- Supports multiple stakeholders and/or business lines concurrently.
- Strong ability to effectively perform in a complex, high change environment while being a positive steward for HRMRE.
- Strong business acumen and understanding to allow appropriate partnership with client groups.
- Excellent project management skills to oversee execution of complex communications strategies.
- Superior organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict management, negotiation skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Suite, and Qualtrics and SPSS desirable.
- Strong strategic capabilities to assess issues and their potential impact on the Bank's image and reputation.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant HR experience in employee engagement.
- Results-oriented and able to effectively execute in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners.
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong cross-cultural and cross-divisional team relationships.
- Fluency in Spanish highly desirable.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
- CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation, or in progress is an asset.
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
