Job Description

Transdev Canada is actively seeking a highly motivated Recruitment and Training Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the recruitment and training processes for our Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) Transit Operation. Primary responsibilities will include attracting and selecting qualified candidates and coordinating comprehensive training programs to ensure their success. Your expertise in recruitment strategies and training methodologies will be crucial to the smooth and efficient functioning of the Hurontario LRT Project, a Light Rail Operation we are pursuing in the Greater Toronto Area. Transdev has a strong presence in Canada and throughout North America.

Recruitment and Training Coordinator will be reporting to the Human Resource Manager of Mobilinx Hurontario Services - Victoria Ng and supported by the Transdev Canada Rail team.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • On legal contractual documents for the project to ensure conformity with guidelines and agreements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment activities, including candidate profiles, interview evaluations, and hiring decisions
  • Utilize diverse sourcing channels, such as online job boards, social media platforms, industry networks, and career fairs, to identify potential candidates
  • Conduct comprehensive screening of applications, resumes, and relevant documents to identify promising candidates
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews, assessments, and pre-employment tests
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring a seamless transition into their roles
  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for LRV operators, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, operational procedures, and customer service standards
  • Organize and schedule training sessions, simulator training, and on-the-job training, in collaboration with operational teams
  • Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies in all recruitment and training activities
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, performance assessments, and training evaluations
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and stakeholders to determine staffing needs and provide regular updates on recruitment progress
  • Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, and manuals, to enhance learning and knowledge retention

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Knowledge of recruitment strategies, candidate assessment techniques, and hiring best practices
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and procedures
  • Strong work ethic and team player attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates, employees, and stakeholders at all levels

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other project management software
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time-management, planning, conceptual and consultative skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
