Wellness Coordinator in Hamilton

We are looking for a Wellness Coordinator to join a non profit organization for a one year contract in Hamilton. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and be comfortable running training sessions in big groups. This position will be reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Wellness Coordinator will develop, implement and promote wellness initiatives and strategies in order to support HR programs.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the development and implementation of a corporate wellness strategy and
initiatives
  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources, the Senior Leadership team and the
Wellness Committee, in implementing wellness initiatives
  • Collects and conducts data analysis on an ongoing basis on wellness initiatives and presents
the findings as required
  • Strives to maintain a strong proactive, trusted relationship with all employees
  • Develops diverse initiatives that promote wellness and resiliency
  • Provides support and coaching to various levels of management and employees on wellness
  • Provides Guarding Minds Trainings to staff, foster parents and volunteers
related matters
  • Ensures staff are in compliance with Society Health and Safety policies; the Occupational
  • Responsible for maintaining Wellness database and intranet activities
Health and Safety Act and its regulations; and WHMIS
  • Completes mandatory training and participates in ongoing agency training
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Certificate in Health and Safety will be considered as an asset
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Adult education certificate is an asset
  • Experience or knowledge in a similar role
  • Will need to completed Police clearance and Provincial Child Protection Record Check
  • Knowledge and expertise in implementing the standards in the workplace
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to speak in large groups
  • University degree, college diploma or relevant work experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Change management experience will be considered as an asset
  • Facilitator Certification in Mental Health First Aid is an asset
  • Able to work independently but also take initiative
  • Facilitator Certification in The Working Mind is an asset
