What We Do:

Children’s Treatment Network (CTN) supports over 29,000 kids and youth with disabilities and other developmental needs. We provide intake, service navigation and coordinated service planning, assessment and diagnostic services, specialized clinics and rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy.

Funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, CTN is an Ontario provincial government funded not-for profit organization, that offers services through contracted partners in the education, health and community sectors. What You Will Do:

CTN is looking for a permanent, full-time Child and Family Wellness, Program Coordinator who will lead program development and capacity building for a new initiative: the Child and Family Wellness Program. This position is responsible for the development of a Wellness Program to support kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs and their families, as well as to increase capacity within the Community and Family Participation Program and the broader CTN Network to recognize and support the wellness of the whole family. This position will contribute to the planning, developing, executing and improvement of the Child and Family Wellness Program. This position reports to the Manager, Family Services and Partnerships.

Responsibilities:

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver in-person group programming to clients and families that promotes wellness (may include non-CTN sites or evenings as required)
  • Liaise with external vendors as appropriate/assigned
  • Support and encourage family engagement and capacity building opportunities
  • Identify and assess risks to the client and family, initiate links to services and supports and collaborate to problem solve the appropriate course of action
  • Provide support and guidance to the Community and Family Coordinators for the implementation any Child and Family Wellness Program initiatives
  • Provide Network and clinical support, collaboration, and capacity building opportunities
  • Develop opportunities for families to connect and share information with each other
  • Facilitate inclusion, participation, and support inclusive communities by raising awareness, building capacity, identifying gaps and barriers, and linking community partners
  • Provide Network and clinical support, collaboration, and capacity building opportunities
  • Build relationships with CTN clients, families and employees, Network Partner Agencies, and other agencies outside the Network
  • Create opportunities for shared learning and capacity building within the Community and Family Participation Program and across the network where possible
  • Explore opportunities for shared learning and delivery of programming across the Network
  • Lead the development and delivery of the Child and Family Wellness Program

Corporate and Network Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Privacy legislation respecting the privacy of clients and families
  • Work closely with the CTN Leadership Team in supporting the work of the whole Network and communicate provider, family and volunteer feedback to the Manager, Family Services and Partnerships
  • Maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgement, discretion, and accountability
  • Implement CTN Policies and Procedures for local team operations, partner collaboration, asset management, health and safety and related operating requirements in collaboration with the Manager, Family Services and Partnerships
  • Participate in and lead Network committees, task forces, work groups and other forums, as assigned
  • Participate in community worktables and service planning initiatives as assigned

What We Need:

  • Must be a current member in good standing with the appropriate regulatory college
  • Ability to work flexible hours in support of requirements that may fall outside of the typical work hour framework
  • Possess sound professional judgement, tact and flexibility in adapting to interacting with a broad range of families, kids and professionals
  • Experience with and understanding of various cultures and cultural communities including Francophone, First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) communities considered an asset
  • A minimum of a three-year University Degree OR a three-year College diploma with professional designation in Social Work, or a relevant child and family focused discipline
  • Ability to communicate in French or other languages considered an asset
  • Adaptability to work within an evolving/changing system of service delivery
  • Strong organizational skills including time management, work prioritization and project management
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe environment for staff, clients and families by working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related policies
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting kids and youth with disabilities or developmental needs and their families is required
  • Certified First Aid considered an asset
  • A moderate to advanced skill set with technology, comfortable creating power points, using excel spread sheets and other online tools including social media
  • Excellent organizational, project management and inter-personal skills including strong oral and written communication and presentation abilities
  • Knowledge of the children’s service systems in Simcoe County and York Region considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and accurately in the presence of frequent interruptions and requests for assistance

Selected Successful Candidate Will Be Required To:

  • Maintain the ability to work effectively in a temporary remote environment and have access to appropriate internet capacity
  • Be able to travel to assigned office, between CTN sites and/or other locations as required
  • Produce a clear police record check with a vulnerable sector check prior to start of employment
  • Any candidate being considered for employment at Children’s Treatment Network (“CTN”) must be able to provide supporting documentation to confirm their eligibility to legally work within Canada. Proof of eligibility includes but is not limited to a social insurance number (SIN), Canadian birth certificate, passport, citizenship certificate, permanent residence card, open work permit, or valid receipt from Immigration Canada of an application for a post-graduate work permit.
