Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Youth Employment Program (YEP), the Project Manager, YEP, will play a leading role in the tracking, oversight, and project management of a new, one-of-a-kind program to prepare young people for the transforming world of work.

The Project Manager, YEP, will manage the project’s life cycle, including target development and delivery; metrics and assessment; problem-solving and troubleshooting; and deadline and budget management.

As a leader and problem solver with a social conscience, you will report to the Senior Manager, YEP, and work with the Senior Leadership Team, and program managers and assistants to ensure robust and timely delivery of the project.

This full-time role has a hiring range of $70,000 to $75,000 in addition to benefits and three (3) weeks of vacation.

Please Note: This is a full-time, hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two (2) days a week in the Toronto Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Ensure all internally established processes and operating standards are followed, in particular: safeguarding, branding, software use, etc.
  • Support the project lifecycle, in consultation with the Senior Manager, YEP, from requirements definition through deployment, schedule identification, scope, budget estimation and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
  • Consult on a detailed project plan and charter that articulates the project framework, target and goals, as well as the required resources
  • Establish, track, and flag all budgetary components and any cost overruns
  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and to maximize deliverables
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels
  • Make recommendations on project logistics, in particular: venue, travel and transportation components
  • Ensure any adjustments to project scope, schedule and/or costs are approved and updated
  • Oversee the input of all program contacts and connections into Raiser’s Edge and other relevant software.

Impact Measurement

  • Provide regular and timely status updates to management to support consistent communication and decision-making across the project lifecycle
  • Support project deliverables, in consultation with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team, with accompanying pathways, metrics, and timelines to achieve project milestones
  • Following direction from MEL, implement and measure success benchmarks over time and space to track project progression
  • Establish a monitoring and evaluation framework with built-in contingency strategies to mitigate scope and budget overruns

Stakeholder Management

  • Oversee and coordinate tasks between and across various departments and stakeholders to maximize efficiency
  • Engage with the Senior Manager, YEP, and Senior Leadership Team to address pressing or challenging stakeholder management issues
  • Support the project team structure to ensure maximum performance by providing purpose, direction, support, and motivation
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors and suppliers as needed, including any Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and other contracts
  • Lead project and group meetings, establishing the schedule, agenda, and goals for each session
  • Support the development and implementation of partnership strategies, ensuring engagement and follow-ups are tracked and documented

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY SKILLS

Required

  • Eligibility to work in Canada
  • Project Management certification or designation (Project Management Professional / PMP or other equivalent)
  • Experience using MS Office, SharePoint, Raiser’s Edge (or other CRM)
  • 2-4 years of previous experience in project management
  • Experience using project management tools and software
  • University degree (or equivalent) in project management, business, education or a related discipline
