Certification in Crisis Intervention, First Aid, Occupational Health & Safety, Life Skills and mental health First Aid an asset.

Ensure efficient filing system, data entry, and compiling of statistics in agency and funder databases and generate reports.

Awareness of and ability to overcome employer objections to hiring persons with disabilities.

Demonstrated track record assisting persons with disabilities find, maintain and retain long term employment aligned with their career goal.

· develop job analysis for positions in conjunction with employers

Minimum two years’ experience in counselling, file management, group facilitation, or job coaching is preferred

Utilize electronic tracking system to record and report on the services being offered to individuals

Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Career Planning, Employment Counselling, Social/Community Work, Social Services, Human Resources or related field or equivalent training/experience

Superior presentation and written communication skills

Knowledge of community resources, familiarity with the labour market as well as apprenticeship and training opportunities

Develop strategies and timelines for individual members for achieving goals while problem-solving when obstacles or challenges occur

Ability to work in an outreach case management modality.

Travel is a requirement of this position and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

Clinical understanding of addictions diagnosis and treatment when such addictions co-occur with other serious psychiatric disorders.

Ability to integrate and apply COTBC Standards for Occupational Therapy Practice in the context of community mental health and addictions practice.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to organize work effectively, establish and carry out priorities to meet critical deadlines.

Ability to work in an outreach case management modality.

Clinical understanding of affective disorders, schizophrenia and other serious psychiatric disorders and their treatment, using a comprehensive biopsychosocial model of care.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to organize work effectively, establish and carry out priorities to meet critical deadlines.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Possession of a valid Driver's License.
