Job Description
Manager, Programming, Youth Employment Program (YEP)
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Youth Employment Program (YEP), the Manager, Programming, YEP, will contribute to the development of a new, first-of-its-kind program to prepare young people for the transforming world of work.
As a leader and problem solver with a social conscience, you will report to the Senior Manager, YEP, and work with program managers and assistants to ensure timely, responsive, and transformative program development.
This full-time role has a hiring range of $62,500 to $67,500 in addition to benefits and three (3) weeks of vacation.
Please Note: This is a full-time, hybrid role, requiring three (3) days a week in the Toronto Office.
Responsibilities
Program Planning and Design
  • Ongoing exploration of new opportunities with respect to program content, methods, technologies and strategies to ensure future iterations of YEP are agile and responsive to changing needs and trends in the area of youth employment.
  • Document, record, report, and track all YEP metrics and data.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, employers, educators and community collaborators to identify training, work experience and foundational skills needed to be included in an employment program designed for youth 18-30.
  • With support from Sr Manager, YEP develop and maintain annual YEP program budget, set yearly projections, etc.
  • Assess, review and recommend any educational software needs, and build corresponding online program and resource support materials.
  • Manage and support YEP programming, including, but not limited to: an outcomes-based learning program, program model, and delivery; program content and elements, including workshops, coaching, mentoring, onboarding and offboarding and a mentorship program to support program participants for one year following program completion.
  • Develop a fair, barrier-free application and applicant review processes, reviewing any software needs, identifying a review team, scheduling and overseeing potential interviews, etc.
  • Support program-related research to identify and stay on top of trends, gaps and opportunities to ensure youth employment program development is addressing gaps and opportunities in the field of youth employment and skills development.
  • Support Fundraising Team on all YEP funding reports and proposals.
Program Implementation
  • Manage all aspects of the youth employment program implementation.
  • Assess and secure all program requirements and logistics, including venues and locations for program delivery, as well as coordinate all aspects in-person program.
  • Manage all aspects of the program including scheduling 4-week onboarding program and workshops, coordinating all placements, educational opportunities and touchpoints, as well as coaching and mentoring opportunities, and offboarding program and workshops.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Manager, source content delivery partners to meet programming needs.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders through the duration of each program cycle, including: Program applicants and program participants, Community collaborators who support program recruitment and content delivery and YEP employer partners supporting them with any questions, concerns or issues.
  • Respond to all program inquiries and provide regular communication to all stakeholders with respect to updates, opportunities, etc.
  • Foster a supportive, attentive and responsive learning environment for participants throughout the duration of the program.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure program success.
  • Support program delivery partners, instructors and coaches.
  • Coordinate and implement all cohort engagement opportunities.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
  • Working with MEL, analyze data and feedback and implement MEL recommendations to improve program quality and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Identify assessment timelines and develop assessment tools.
  • Work with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to identify assessment needs and develop an agile and responsive assessment program to measure and assess program effectiveness and success across all stakeholder groups, and at all stages of program rollout, including initial pilot, final program and post-program.
Qualifications
What you bring
  • 3-5 years experience developing, designing and implementing creative and innovative non-formal learning/education programs.
  • Strong facilitator/moderator skills and experience – able to moderate programs both online and in-person with equal skill and engagement.
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or other CRM considered an asset.
  • Experience using survey software (Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey) considered an asset.
  • Experience working with youth 18-30, particularly those from equity deserving communities who are facing barriers to employment and training opportunities.
  • Degree/certificate in education or a related field such as program design, adult education, curriculum design, instructional design.
  • Experience using MS Office, SharePoint
