Employment status: Temporary full time (10 months)


Salary band: $43,746 - $45,683/year

The incumbent will effectively implement a provincially funded initiative to build and support breakfast and morning meal programs in the Thunder Bay District.


In This Role, You Will


  • Work with the Food and Logistics Coordinator to identify, source, and purchase equipment and food for local programs when funding is made available.
  • Work cohesively within a team environment
  • Integrate volunteer resources within the job's scope of responsibility
  • Manage program data collection, reporting requirements, and records maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance with organizing and coordinating events like The Great Big Crunch and Cereal Drive
  • Work with local Student Nutrition Programs on cost-saving initiatives like voucher program
  • Organize and coordinate the distribution of in-kind donations, donated food, and gifts.
  • Work collaboratively with schools to create efficient food storage.
  • Provide broader support to the Student Nutrition Program team


What We Are Looking For


  • Strong computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive (an asset)
  • Excellent data management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in school nutrition related programs (an asset)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.
  • Experience working with schools and school boards (an asset)
  • Food Safety Level 1 Certification (an asset)
  • Valid provincial driver's license as well as access to a reliable vehicle, and First Aid certification is an asset (training provided).
  • High degree of workplace adaptability
  • Highly collaborative and a strong team player, but also able to work independently
  • Community College diploma in a related field and one to three years' job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset. This includes experience in Community Program Development or an equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs case of apples


Working Conditions


  • Ability to travel throughout Thunder Bay and must have own reliable transportation.

  • Duties are principally conducted in the CRC Thunder Bay office, an environment that is clean and comfortable.

  • Please note that relocation funding is not available for this position.
