  • Notifies management concerning need for repairs.
  • Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape related hand tools and light power tools, such as shovels, rakes, blowers, mowers, drills, saws, sanders, buffers, vacuuming, extractors, etc.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work performed.
  • Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
  • Provide floor care services for carpet, tile, and wood floors and may include vacuuming, extracting, buffing, sealing, stripping, etc.
  • Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
  • Maintain all grounds; including sidewalks, public walkways and stairways, building exteriors, garden areas in a neat, clean and attractive condition.
  • Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
  • Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Able to perform these operations using units of United States’ currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers (varies by community).

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Performs basic maintenance related work requests.
  • Provide cleaning services for business offices, apartments, interior and exterior public and common areas and amenities of the community in a safe, neat, clean and attractive condition.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions promptly to Supervisor.
  • Able to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in the community. Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to Atria Retirement's standards.


  • Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Responsible for the opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
  • Estimate daily or weekly needs of food and supplies and communicate needs to Executive Chef/Sous Chef.
  • Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents, as well as read and write English.
  • Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Attend pre-meal stand up in kitchen prior to meal service.
  • Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.
  • Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
  • Participate in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
  • Prepare and ensure snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times.
  • Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service.
  • Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.
  • Keep kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied.
  • Adhere to standard food safety practices.
  • Food handlers permit as required by provincial law and/or Company standards.
  • Ensure that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
