High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.

Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service.

Provide floor care services for carpet, tile, and wood floors and may include vacuuming, extracting, buffing, sealing, stripping, etc.

Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.

Manage clients in an efficient yet organized manner including setting up meetings, forwarding contracts, billing, etc.

Manage the bar and liquor orders

Manage scheduling and labor costs

Leadership skills that rally the team during big events while resolving conflicts and getting the job done - lead by example

Ability to manage multiple variables - the food, the costs, pricing, scheduling and more

2 years of current experience as a Porter required

Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures required

Previous experience in an environmental services program; specifically recent experience as a patient transportation position required

Minimum of 1 year experience interacting with patients in a health care setting required

A minimum of 6 months recent Patient Transport Porter experience preferred

Recent Multi-Campus Patient Transport Porter experience preferred

Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills

Understands the requirements of Infection Control & Prevention; the Health & Safety Act

Transports patients to various hospital locations

Advises Manager when food, beverage and/or retail stock is in need of ordering

O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education

Transports deceased patients to morgue

Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Daily tasks and responsibilities may include:

Kroll pharmacy software experience is preferred.

Prepares third party insurance claims, processes invoices and makes accounting entries using computerized system.

Orders, receives, tags and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards.

Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping and dusting. Empties trash, operates trash compactor and cardboard bailer.

Assists in transferring patients to and from beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.

Transports blood gases and laboratory samples as required; provides messenger service within the Hospital as required (i.e. charts, x-rays, lab specimens).

Transports beds, equipment and material as required.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.
