Patient Porter Jobs

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking a Casual Patient Porter to join their team! If you have graduated from Grade 10, plus two year's recent experience....Apply today!
This position performs a variety of clerical duties such as:

• Transports medical apparatus and/or equipment
• Porters’ patients requiring assistance on discharge from nursing unit or treatment area to hospital exit.
• Communicates with Nursing Units regarding patient transport, as required.
• Transports deceased patients to morgue
• Ensures patient comfort and readiness for transport
• Completes routine forms and keeps records relating to the work performed, as required.
• Assists with lifting and transferring patients to and from beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and/or other devices, as instructed.
• Maintains established inventory on units including bariatric equipment.
• Delivers specimens, requisitions/orders, equipment, furniture, and patient care supplies
• Cleans, stores, retrieves and returns supplies, instruments and equipment as required.

Hours of work: Days, Evenings, Nights; 07:00 to 16:30, 08:00 to 16:05, 08:00 to 17:30, 09:00 to 17:00, 09:00 to 18:30, 10:00 to 17:00, 10:00 to 18:00, 18:00 to 02:00, 18:30 to 06:30, 20:00 to 04:00
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week.
