SUMMARY
Founded in 1957, the Ottawa Safety Council (OSC) is a well-established leader in road safety education and
services. We are a vibrant, charitable, not-for-profit organization. We will be expanding our services and
programs to Toronto. We are seeking an Operations Manager who will be directly responsible for
overseeing the successful operations of the OSC Toronto program and services. While overseeing the
management of approximately 200-250 part-time field employees in the Greater Toronto Area, this
Manager also provides direction to 4 full-time office staff, setting and maintaining a high-level of service
delivery, offering professional expertise, and monitoring performance to ensure that organizational,
individual, and program objectives are achieved within scheduled timelines and budget.\

JOB DUTIES
• Ensure all client contract requirements are fulfilled
• Responsible for the day-to-day communications with the Client
• Track, address, and resolve all issues and matters related to the contract promptly
• Attend all regular, and as needed, meetings to discuss contract performance and issues related to the
services, including any operational improvements/lessons learned, to debrief on complaints, incident
reports, outstanding service issues and inquires of the Client, and to provide updates
• Provide the Client with the required reporting deliverables
• Examine reports (e.g., inventory, sales and daily reports) to determine the operational activities of the
company and to maximize performance
• Ensure that all staff receive appropriate training on job duties, organizational policies, and procedures;
• Establish and maintain a productive working environment and culture for all
• Oversee administrative processes
• Contribute to the development of departmental and organization-wide policy and procedures
• Provide coaching and mentoring and conduct evaluations of all program staff
• Develop and manage project budgets
• Provide recommendations and information for program development
• Plan and organize meetings and special events as required
• Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with key community stakeholders
• Ensure maintenance of records and databases
• Perform other duties as necessary
REQUIREMENTS
• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in operations management, business, or a related field.
• 5 or more years previous senior management experience in the non-profit / business / front-line
service environment with proven leadership abilities
• 3+ years of experience in human resources (i.e. clear and solid understanding of personnel policies,
practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization)
• Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes
• Demonstrated ability to manage key stakeholder and client relationships;
• Able to identify key issues, creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles
• Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, finance, funding, contracts, and
partnerships
• Effective attention to detail and rigor
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
• A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people
management skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Ability to attend and conduct meetings
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
• Local travel required
• Overtime as required
• Regular business hours, though evening and weekend work will be required
• Hybrid Work Environment
