Analyst - Canada Advisory (Toronto)

Group Description: Evercore Canada is responsible for covering and delivering Evercore’s global platform and capabilities to a broad range of large-cap corporate clients and financial sponsors across multiple sectors nationwide. Our full suite of investment banking services includes, but is not limited to, M&A advisory, board and special committee advisory, capital raising, capital structure advisory, strategic shareholder advisory, activism and raid defense, and other areas of expertise.

What is the position? Evercore seeks to hire an Analyst for its Advisory Group located in Toronto.

Primary Responsibilities: Evercore’s differentiated approach to advisory provides Analysts with the ability to work closely with senior bankers on industry-transforming, multi-billion dollar transactions around the world. The small transaction team structure creates a strong platform for Analysts to learn investment banking and assume high levels of responsibility at early stages of their careers. As part of the team, the Analyst will have the opportunity to work on a variety of strategic advisory assignments including: sellside and buyside M&A engagements; activism and raid defense; divestitures and spin-off engagements; equity and equity-linked capital-raising; special committee engagements; debt and restructuring advisory and, more broadly, evaluation of strategic alternatives.

Specific Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong interest in investment banking with solid quantitative and analytical skills, as well as the ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients. Knowledge of accounting, finance, valuation and business strategy is a must. Responsibilities for an Analyst include interfacing with clients to resolve complex financial and strategic issues, managing and executing live deal situations, facilitating due diligence, drafting client presentation materials, assisting with new business development, executing and overseeing financial and valuation analysis and managing junior Analysts.

• Strong communications skills, both written and oral
