We are actively seeking a Medical Office Administrator to join our operations team, working out of our Halifax office.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is ideally suited for someone who is organized, efficient and detail oriented. This is a great opportunity to help us innovate in the healthcare space and build professional experience in Halifax’s thriving startup community.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Claim Submission: Submitmedical claims to provincial and private healthcare insurers, reconcile claims and adjudications, report on rejected/approved claims
- Day-to-Day Finance: Pay bills, submit invoices, reconcile bank transactions, and monitor accounts receivable and payable
- Executive Support: Provide administrative assistance to the executive/senior management teams, such as writing and editing emails and reports, scheduling meetings and coordinating travel logistics as needed
- Physician Relations: Onboard and verify new physicians to the platform, respond to support tickets and calls, and gather billing documentation
- Office Administration: Maintain office and an efficient and organized filing system
Key Qualifications
- Familiarity with the healthcare system and health professions or business is a plus
- A post-secondary education in medical office administration, accounting, business administration or equivalent work experience
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail – we care about the little things that make a big difference!
- General knowledge of bookkeeping practices and experience with QuickBooks Online software preferred (on-the-job training will be provided)
