In this role, you will:

• Be a key leader on the Securities Operations team, with the important mandate of defining, building, operating and scaling our Options clearing and settlement processes
• Identify and mitigate operational risks
• Be responsible for daily execution of all operational critical activities related to options clearing and settlements
• Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure stakeholders are kept apprised of changes to options and are appropriate actions are taken
• Lead a team that performs day-to-day operational activities related to Options clearing and settlements
• Build and constantly improve metrics and risk controls to monitor the health and accuracy of the company’s Options clearing and settlement process
• Work as player-coach to build and lead a new team of motivated Securities Operations associates
• Ensure there are strong feedback loops and communication channels across teams to immediately identify and fix discrepancies, understand root causes and continuously improve the company’s Options operations processes and systems
• Develop processes to increase the efficiency of our Options clearing operations
• Support our applications to the CDCC and OCC
• Partner with our R&D team as an Options subject matter expert to support building compelling products while mitigating risks to clients and the business.
• Support the transition to T+1 settlement on equities. Working knowledge of CDS/DTCC is critical

We're looking for people who have:

• Are passionate about technology, specifically fintech.
• Have experience or familiarity with programming a plus (especially SQL)
• Thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments. We move quickly and need to adapt to changing priorities and solve problems based on the information at hand
• Are accountable to results. You are on top of your team’s performance and provide congratulations when earned and step in to help course correct when things are off
• Have completed or are pursuing industry courses (CSC, DFOL etc).
• Are organized with a strong attention to detail and be comfortable working on multiple priorities with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Have awesome people skills and a positive attitude. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment
• Are a natural coach! You are at your best when you are helping those around you be successful and you have a proven track record of success. This goes beyond just teaching your colleagues best practices, it includes assisting in development plans that help achieve your colleagues’ career goals
• Are naturally curious: if something seems off, you want to figure out what’s going on
• Have 5+ years experience working at a broker-dealer handling processing and settlement of derivative products, mainly US and Canadian Options (IIROC-regulated dealer is preferred) and at least 1 year of previous professional leadership experience
