Sailun Tire Americas – Assistant AP Manager
(Move to AP Manager March 2024)
Position Reporting To – Controller
Summary/Objective
Reporting to the AP Manager, the AP Manager is responsible for managing the day to day activities of the AP team ensure timely and accurate payment to our trading partners.. The AP Manager will ensure that the department operates smoothly, maintain accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers, lenders, and employees. The AP Manager is also responsible for reconciling all merchandise AP balances to ensure costs are current and accurate.
Essential Functions
- Manage Period close reports to ensure issues are resolved
- Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
- Prepare and deliver performance feedback on a regular basis
- Oversee the AP team members by providing training and mentorship to the staff
- Support Audit requests when required
- Review and approve weekly payments to vendors
- Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Review and approve monthly bank reconciliation
- Assist with ad hoc strategic and operational projects as required
- Reviewing and approving employee expenses via Concur
- Issue weekly cash forecast
- Monitor AP workload, reassign as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Continuing to improve the payment process
- Monitoring vendor statements and resolving any outstanding issues
- Maintaining historical records, while introducing new and improved ways of storing the data
- Develop and maintain process documents for the AP department

Skills and Qualifications
Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner. High integrity and ethical standards. Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to a high degree of accuracy, including consistent, timely and objective output. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize, ensuring timely and accurate data entry. People oriented with the ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff, clients and vendors Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members.
Required Education and Experience
Post-secondary education preferably B-Comm Accounting or Finance; or similar Community College degree/diploma
7+ years’ experience in supervisory/managerial position overseeing accounts payable function in high volume manufacturing or distribution environment
Experience working in a global organization having multiple entities is desirable
Strong experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment.
Intermediate Excel skills (e.g. complex formulas, etc.)
Experience using SAP , Dynamics NAV/Navision or a similar ERP system an asset
Experience using Concur
Experience with implementing process improvements
