The Manager, Marketing Technology and Operations will lead a team and collaborate closely with cross functional stakeholders from the Marketing, CX, Operations, Data Integrations and other IT functions on shaping future growth strategies driven by technology. You will support with the development and implementation of digital marketing initiatives and solutions. This role will be integral to the continued phases of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) implementation and our Marketing and CX transformation roadmap.
This role will be accountable for the development and delivery of digital solutions in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other secondary systems. You will support and manage the technical configuration of email, SMS, social, and channels while integrating with our online and mobile technologies to grow and measure core business metrics.
You will provide strategic direction on marketing campaigns in SFMC, manage all marketing technology & systems, and optimize marketing operations using technology to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities & Subsequent Duties
Strategy: Transform processes and technology to meet marketing’s strategic goals and reimage the related customer experiences (MarTech Transformation)
  • Contribute to the evolution of the enterprise digital marketing application portfolio with external implementation partners and internal stakeholders
  • Further our digital marketing through Marketing Cloud usage, including building/managing a vision for a multi-channel roadmap
  • Use storytelling to translate transformation concepts and outcomes into easy-to-understand communications to build buy-in, and drive engagement and sustain continuous growth
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to maximize our Salesforce and Smartcomm technology investment, including email optimization, personalization campaigns, cross channel campaigns, reporting, machine learning, and AI-driven content recommendations
Project work and ongoing operations: Lead cross-team collaboration with technical and business stakeholders, as well as external third parties to optimize digital campaigns and experiences across the customer lifecycle by implementing and leveraging MarTech capabilities.
  • Conduct user training and actively promote user adoption of SFMC and other technology platforms
  • Use data, reporting and analytics to drive recommendations and optimization of implementations and campaigns.
  • Support with understand and delivery of marketing technology and campaign ROI analysis
  • Manage SFMC Audience strategy, personalization, and activation of use cases
  • Effectively assess the impact, having an action-oriented approach that leads to measurable outcomes.
  • Deliver marketing automation and personalization projects in a fast-paced environment, and able to successfully keep to deadlines
  • Own all aspects of solution delivery from reviewing requirements, developing and QAing solutions in Marketing Cloud, to implementation and integrations with other technologies
  • Pilot and implement new MarTech functionality on BCAA’s online properties (MC Personalization and Sitecore)
Management and Support: Marketing Technology System Management and Troubleshooting
  • Continually improve the marketing automation and personalization platform usage
  • Stay abreast with the latest platform technology enhancements, changes, and community updates to support the wider marketing teams with journey development, creation, and automated marketing campaigns
  • Perform root cause analysis on system errors, identify correction action, and liaise to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with technical aspects of email marketing and triggered campaigns and alerts e.g. solution data capture requirements, lead generation feeds, etc.
  • Provide support of MarTech solutions, especially during upgrade/fixes. Acting as the subject matter expert for internal users of SFMC email tool, troubleshooting and dealing with Premier SFMC Support team when required
  • Support with internal processes and best practices
Team management and development
  • Lead, mentor and develop your team to grow output and increase engagement, while supporting career goals, and skill development
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Marketing, Data and Analytics
Experience
  • Experience with customer journey mapping, human centered design, business process mapping and management, business analysis, and other process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think creatively and with attention to detail
  • 4+ years’ extensive experience with Marketing Cloud Studios & Builders, most importantly Email Studio, Content Builder, Journey Builder and Automation Studio, and ideally also Cloud Pages, Mobile Studio and MC Personalization
  • Maintain and document the marketing automation processes, procedures, programs, and workflows between CI’s various applications
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, AMPscript.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to think strategically, and execute
  • Working understanding of Agile, Scrum, and JIRA
  • Knowledge in Server Configuration (DNS, SSL)
  • Excellent project management skills and a positive, encouraging attitude
  • Ability to design customer journeys, and a good understanding of SFMC’s Contact Data Model
  • Experience with customer preference management and preference center
  • Expert-level knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is an asset.
  • 6+ years’ experience in Digital Marketing
