Information Technology Operations Team Lead

Our MSP client in Toronto is looking for a full-time IT Operations Team Lead.

Location:

• You will need to visit client sites on occasion in Downtown Toronto - access to a car is required
• Toronto (Remote)

As the IT Operations Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing the strategic direction for the infrastructure function and lead the planning, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of IT systems and client implementations within a Managed Services environment.

You will be responsible for leading and managing daily operations and provide a reliable and highly available server, network, and IT infrastructure service to users.

You will manage the coordination of resources to ensure that work objectives are consistently met and that the MSP client achieves customer and operational excellence.

Requirements:

• Ensure the security and compliance of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure
• Ability to lead and manage the IT operations team, including assigning tasks, training, and performance management
• Standardize new procedures for efficiencies
• Manage the organization's IT budget and client and vendor relationships
• Manage client's infrastructure and Azure implementation and migrations
• Identify client gaps and environments, for upgrades
• Work closely with business leaders to understand and support their IT needs
• Collaborate with other members of the IT leadership team to develop and implement IT policies and procedures, standardize practices
• Possess Account Management capabilities
• Oversee the management and performance of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage
• Possess strong technical skills and act as a hands-on technical lead and handle escalation for level 3 tickets
• Actively work on level 3 ticket escalations, Azure AD, Azure network, Azure virtual servers, migrations, and firewalls
• Develop and implement strategies for the organization's IT operations, including the deployment, maintenance, and support of all IT systems and infrastructure

Qualifications:

• Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
• Experience with Azure Infrastructure and implementation, virtual machines, Firewalls, Azure AD
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience with budget management and vendor relationships is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Strong technical skills and hands-on experience with troubleshooting level 3 tickets
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, with experience in a senior or team lead function
• Strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage
• Experience with security and compliance standards and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) Environment.
