building-U is a non-profit , volunteer based organization that works entirely remotely with small teams of high school students (from Canada, the US, and other countries around the world). Each of these teams is set up to produce specific things (resources) that reach, resonate with, and inform high school students. These resources include: our curated, user-friendly, and free database of internships, funding challenges, and education programs; as well as our annual virtual networking and scholarship game ($4YT). All of the teams work on projects using a peer-to-peer/ self-directed learning model, and focus on practically addressing business challenges that we face at building-U.

The Ambassadors and the MultiMedia Team are two of those teams. The Ambassadors look at exploring jobs and paths that peope seem to enjoy. What exactly do they do in them...like every day. What makes them interesting? Was this part of "the plan"? or how did you get here? The big idea is to listen to what people say about their journey, inflection points, and day-to-day experiences, and from these chats glean some additional useful info for their own consideration (as a high school students). The multi media team is a separate but related team that edits these interviews into themed 5-8 minute segments. Videos are uploaded and featured on our You Tube Behind the Business playlist (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLq6JOS0PfxO-Bwq7Axgh6liEdvxaNbvAp) AND also used as part nof our annual networing and funding event for high schoolstudents from around the world ($4YT - https://building-u.com/event/)

WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A number of super responnsive and reliable and just generally curious and interested video editors and one team support leader for meeting and outreach support and interview prep (possibly also a video editor but not necessarily). Qualities we are looking for in video editors:

- has some solid video editing experience and

- and has interest in the project

- is reliable and responsive

Qualities we are looking for in an Ambassador Team Lead:

- is relatively independentl but also fiercely communicative

- feels comfortable coordinating with others to plan, develop, and improve strategies that can align with project priorities

- enjoys brainstorming sessions and research on finding ways to reach people

- is reliable and responsive

Qualities we are looking for... always!

- has a good sense of humour and excellent time management skills

- is a motivated self starter and calm problem-solver

- is comfortable with having a lot of autonomy and independence while maintaining accountability for collaborating with others and integrating with team goals

- has availability and interest to commit 4-5 hours/week

- is reliable and responsive

TO HELP WITH

- leading Ambassador team meetings (1 hour/week on Sundays)

- helping with indepenent brainstorming sessions

- helping with interview prep sessions as needed

- and/or just editing videos
