Our client is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Team Lead to join our team in London, Ontario. As an Accounting Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team, providing guidance and support to team members, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for our clients.
Responsibilities

• Ensure basic technical knowledge and troubleshooting is conducted for daily business practices.
• Manage WSIB filings.
• Prepare year-end adjustments and reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly internal audits of client files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage source deductions and remittances.
• Process bank reconciliations.
• Conduct employee work reviews and provide guidance and support to team members.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including client care, email management, and staff supervision.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Prepare payroll and related tax filings, including T4, T4A, and T5018.
• Conduct file review and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Manage GST/HST filings.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of T4
• Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
• Command of Accounts Payable (AP)
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
• High attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
