Finance Team Lead – General Accounting Jobs

Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements to ensure the financial stability and growth of the business.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree, (CPA) license, or (CMA) certification is preferred.

Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.

All other duties as requested from time to time by the Director of Finance

Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles for tech companies

Experience in a global accounting organization

•Strong organizational and time management skills.

•Working knowledge and understanding of payroll and benefits administration.

Salary rate is competitive and dependent on experience, health benefits after 3 months and paid vacation.

•Minimumof5years experience in a bookkeeping role

•Excellent knowledge of MS Officeand accounting systems

•Accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections.

5+ years of accounting experience

Confident presence and strong communication skills

Clear understanding of bookkeeping and internal finance processes

Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online

Advanced experience with other accounting software and tools such as; QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, DEXT and Plooto

Experience documenting firm/client best practices and SOPs

A new university Accounting or Finance graduate or 1+ years of recruiting experience

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the desire to have some fun and be creative!

Minimum of one year Accounting experience

Excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office

Can legally work in Canada.

3 - 5 years of Finance experience is required, preferred experience in a costing environment and in the automotive industry.

Health and Safety policies and procedures as outlined in the divisions’ Health and Safety Management System.

Environmental policies and procedures as outlined in the divisions’ Environmental Management System.

Team lead for Cost Analysis. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, input into appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Possibly work irregular hours to meet month end requirements and departmental demands

Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Experience with NetSuite and DocuSign would be an advantage.

Review and manage the approval of a high volume of customer contracts in SFDC triggering the automation of other accounting processes

Support the Customer Transactions Manager on the integration of acquired companies in SFDC

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written supporting global customers is preferred.

Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities

Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility to accommodate different situations and temperaments

5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills

Oversee day-to-day operations, including client care, email management, and staff supervision.

Manage source deductions and remittances.

Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Ensure basic technical knowledge and troubleshooting is conducted for daily business practices.

Assist Managers in the preparation of monthly financial closings.

Interact with all areas of finance as needed.

Previous accounting experience or related course is an asset

Develops and monitors management reporting associated with data integrity; assesses, evaluates and recommends internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures.

Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job.

Manages current ExL CUPE Finance staff, responsible for training, evaluating and disciplining.

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Reports to the Associate Director of Finance for Provost Portfolio.

Receives information from and provides information to UBC Central Finance to reconcile accounts and other ad hoc deliverables.

Proven prioritization, time management and project management skills.

Advanced working knowledge of Excel and strong database skills.

Identifying areas of inefficiencies in monthly, quarterly, and annual processes and offer solutions to improve efficiencies.

Applying knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASNPO, ASPE and IFRS) and financial statement disclosure.

Fostering a service mentality in the Finance Team towards the rest of the business.

Recognized bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or in a related area.

DEC in accounting (equivalent experience);

Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience ;

Excellent knowledge of MS Excel ;

Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle ;

Know how to manage priorities while respecting deadlines;
