Primary Function
Administers accounting and financial policies, controls, procedures and practices to ensure adequate control, recording, reporting and analysis of the Company’s business transactions, operating results, assets and liabilities.
Duties And Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

• Prepares, analyzes and interprets financial, accounting and statistical information to aid in the direction of the Company’s business and for other purposes of internal and external use, including:
• Coordinates the annual Standard Cost review and assumes responsibility for resolving monthly differences.
• Coach, train and develop the Financial Analysis
• Assist in the preparation/analysis/submission of the annual Budget/Reforecast with emphasis on ensuring that quotes are accurately reflected in the future years. Ensure that the quoted programs coming on line in next fiscal year are available for reporting purposes in a format consistent with Actual reporting structures.
• Works independently, setting own pace and schedule, adhering to financial deadlines.
• Team lead for Cost Analysis. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, input into appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Exercises Supervisory duties over the Financial Analyst and provides guidance and assistance to him/her.
• Analyze foreign exposure and prepare template for FX Heading.
• Implement new processes, policies and controls in order to continuously improve the efficiency of the organization.
• Special projects/duties as assigned by Controller
• Coordinates, in conjunction with Materials Management and Engineering, the accuracy of the Standard Cost module in the SAP system. Reconciling variances between standards and actuals.
• Possibly work irregular hours to meet month end requirements and departmental demands
• Maintains the General Ledger and other general accounting records and related controls and ensures the application of proper accounting and clerical methods and systems.
• Month End: 1) Review the monthly COGS entries to ensure that inventory and P&L accounts are adjusted correctly, 2) Ensure that the sub ledger and GL are in balance, 3) Review/adjust the inventory provisions, 4) Review the variance accounts to establish root causes for variances (PPV, Usage, Scrap, Labour Efficiency and Overhead) and prepare explanations for manufacturing/materials staff to highlight and assist in problem resolution.
• Maintains cost accounting records and ensures adherence to the cost accounting system.

Skills And Qualifications

• R ecognized accounting designation (CA/CMA/CGA)
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion.
• 3 - 5 years of Finance experience is required, preferred experience in a costing environment and in the automotive industry.
• Strong excel skills.

Ensure safe practices prior to working on any equipment as to prevent harm to himself/herself and to others (i.e., lockout procedure, barricading areas, safe handling of materials, etc.). This includes making supervisor aware of any unsafe procedures or areas so that corrective actions can be taken.

• Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that his employer requires to be used or worn;
