The Accounting Lead will work closely with the Director of Finance to manage, develop, and scale accounting function at Enavate. This position will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, financial reporting, banking, cash management, M&A add-on integration, and providing strategic financial insights to aid in the business decision-making processes. This is a key role, which will be essential in driving the company's financial success and sustainable growth.

Job Functions

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Perform technical accounting research and documentation, including implementation of new standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports in accordance with US GAAP. Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
• Assist with the accounting due diligence process for M&A activity as well as funding rounds as applicable.
• Engage that technology systems relied on for financial reporting are appropriate and leverage new technology to streamline internal processes.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements to ensure the financial stability and growth of the business.
• Lead the monitoring and oversight of the internal control processes and completing and coordinating financial audits with external auditors.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a results-oriented accounting team.
• All other duties as requested from time to time by the Director of Finance
• Oversee tax planning and compliance for federal, state, and local tax obligations. Work closely with external tax advisors and agencies as needed.
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.

Here is what it takes to be successful in the role

Education and Experience

• Proven track record of at least 10 years of progressive accounting experience as a senior leader or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Integrated ERP system experience – Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop accounting team.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organization and communication skills
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
• Track record of driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems
• Experience in a global accounting organization
• M&A integration experience is considered a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree, (CPA) license, or (CMA) certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles for tech companies
