Accounting Associate Jobs

Our Client in downtown Toronto has an opening for an Accounting Associate position.

Position: Accounting Associate (Japanese Speaking)

Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario

Hours of Work: from 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday (5 days in office)

Employment Status: Permanent Full time

Duties & Responsibilities

·Perform Full-cycle accounting including preparation of monthly journal entries, bank reconciliation, daily sales entries, and other month-end/year closing work as assigned, while adhering to established accounting standards.

·Perform Accounts Payable, including cost analysis, vendor account reconciliation, invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing.

·Perform daily/weekly cash flow projections and complex account reconciliations, enter and issue invoices, and update accounts receivable and payable.

·Coordinate with external auditors, including walkthroughs, supporting schedules, and follow-up questions.

·Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the finance/accounting teams in Canada and U.S..

·Prepare analysis on complex accounting transactions, including inventory valuation, foreign exchange translation, hedge accounting, and financing as required.

·Resolve business transactions related discrepancies by communicating with vendors, customers, or internal departments as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Sound knowledge of Financial and ERP systems
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Must be fluent in Japanese and English
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently, takes initiative, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and see projects through to completion.
• Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - ability to build and maintain positive relationships with operating management, financial staff and other departments.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance
• Must have analytical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

Compensation: $50,000 -60,000 per year + Full Benefit + Incentives
